The Verdict is in…

For the past several months I have had extreme amounts of pain when it was that time of month. The pain would be so bad that they only thing I could do for the first few days of my period was sit in bed and wait for the pain to pass. I went to two different doctors explaining my pain and each one of them just put me on a form of birth control which ended up making me sick. Finally a friend of my moms who has had the same issue recommended Dr. Martin. My first visit with him I told him my history and instead of saying let’s fix it with birth control he said birth control hasn’t worked we should take the next step. The next steps were either having a Laparoscopy done, having a series of shots that send your body into metaphase for six months, or get pregnant. Since I am egger to finish school first I ruled out getting pregnant and it also doesn’t give me an answer to the problem, and the shot scared me and still kind does. (Plus I don’t think Jesse can handle me going through metaphase thirty years to early!) So I went with Laparoscopy. The surgery went well and today I went back for my post appointment and I have endometriosis. The lovely scar tissue that is formed because of it was all over my bladder and my left ovary. Dr. Martin removed all the scar tissue and now we get to play the waiting game. I get to see how I feel over the period of a few months to see if it worked or if I am still in pain it means that there might still be some left it was just too small for Dr. Martins eyes. If that is the case the next step would be doing the shots but I am not sure if I want to do that. We just might have to get pregnant since I know what is causing all the pain. But thank you Dr. Martin for helping figure out what was causing all that lovely pain. :)

Sick as a Dog!!!

Last week I was scheduled to have a Diagnostic Laparoscopy. Tuesday morning I woke up not feeling the greatest, but didn't think much of it. Wednesday morning Jesse and I got up really early and headed for the hostipal to get this surgery over with. They called me back had me get dressed and I was laying in the bed about to get the I.V. when the Anesthesiologist came in and listened to my chest and said I had too much congestion to do the procedure - and sent me home. I didn't think it was that bad until Thursday when I woke up feeling like I had been run over by a truck. I had the flu! And I ended up spending the next four days in bed, Jesse joining me on Friday! (He didn't want me to be sick alone so he decided to get the flu too) Today is Wednesday, and I a finally feeling up to doing things. One week later! The best part is I go back to the hostipal on Friday to have the surgery, so just when I am feeling better I get to be knocked back down again. Ya I am so excited.
*** Note: A laparoscopy is an out patient surgery and it just being done to figure out whats wrong with me, :) and I should only be down for a few days. No big deal.

UNLV Homecoming (This if for Kellie)

This week is homecoming at UNLV. I am not big into school spirit here because my goal is to graduate as quick I can and move on. But on Monday one of the ladies in my class came into class with the homecoming teacher and as soon as I saw it I had to have it. Just in case you don't know I am a HUGE Disney fan and this year our theme is "its' Magic" and they used the Disney font. So now I have a cute Disney UNLV t-shirt. It made my week, especially since I have spent most of the day in a classroom. :) The shirt doesn't have the little man on it, it just has the words. But I still love it!

School.. School... School

Sorry I haven't updated the blog in awhile but I have been spending my days at good old UNLV. This semster I am taking my classes a little different than usual. I am taking 18 credits or in other words 6 classes. It is alot but it isn't too bad, because each one of my classes I do in a week. So I spend Monday through Friday in the same room at UNLV from 8 am to 4 pm. Then on Wednesday I take my mid term and on Friday I take a final and I am DONE!!! I have taken 2of my 6 classes and they have been great. But last time I had two weeks off before my next class but I just finshed up last one and start back up again on Monday. YA! I am a little tired and feel like I get nothing done during the week because I am in class all day then clued to the computer the rest of the day doing homework. Jesse has been really sweet these past weeks. He has helped me edit papers late at night and again early in the mornings. Sleep is something I just caught up on during the weekends. But the nice thing is I am getting close to graduation just not close enough. :)

Jesse's Alaska Trip!!!

A few weeks ago Jesse had the opportunity to go to Alaska with his company for a week. He had a lot of fun and best part he got to do what really enjoyed flying and taking amazing pictures. He also got to relax a little bit which was much needed. I only posted a few of the pictures he took. I think he is pretty talented with the camera. :)

The Alaska Cruise. (Something I want to do some day.)
Glaciers!!
They went Kayaking around the glaciers. He said it was really cold that day! :)
I love the reflection in this picture!
He also spent a day fishing and he caught this fish that was to "big" for them so he had to throw it back but it weighed about 80 pounds.
Jesse and his boss Luke showing off what they caught. He brought home quite a bit of fish home and we actually ate it, and it was good. (we aren't seafood fans!)

CRAZY DAY

Today was one crazy day. It started out with me spending 8 hours in class. ( I am trying to do three credits in one week) Then Jesse came to pick me up from class so I could take him to the airport because he is off to work once again. Bet your thinking this isn't crazy at all. Well it gets better. While me and Jesse are at the Pinball Museum (which is really cool and its free, you should go if you get a chance) I have a good friend of mine from Cedar vi sting who is pregnant. Well she calls and is a little panicked and asks where the nearest hospital is and how far am I from the house. Well her husband was on the way home so he was going to beat me but anyways her water broke and she was going into labor. (three weeks early) So between some other good friends of ours and her husband we get her to the hospital. Well since they are from Cedar City the hospital gave them just a hard time with getting her medical records and checked in. With that taking maybe 45 min. She was already dilated and ready to go. So from the time her water broke to the time she had that baby is was only two hours or so. And because the doctors were being so slow with her information she gave birth with out and DRUGS... She is one strong women in my eyes. I sat with her for just a little while and I don't think I could have done that. I am excited to say that she had a healthy little boy that weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and is cute as a button. But I'm ready for bed because I have a midterm tomorrow and another 8 hours class to sit through. Night!

Funny

I was messing around and found this website off of a friend of mines blog and thought it was pretty funny. And since Jesse is gone for a week I thought he would be a good candidate for this. Some day he might just win the gold. Have fun

Lyssa and Stanley's Wedding

Lyssa and Stanley were sealed on Friday July 25 in the San Diego Temple. It was really nice and it was awesome to be with the family in the temple. They had two receptions that weekend and the first one was on Thursday at the beach and the other was Saturday at her parents house. We only got a few pictures at the one at the beach. Congrats Lyssa and Stanley!!

4th of July & Family Reunion

For the past few weeks we have been traveling all around for Jesse's job and in between work we have had some fun-filled family events. For the fourth of July we went to Monterey, CA. We did some shopping and the boys played some golf. But no trip would be complete with out a stop at Ghirardelli.
Ella showing her American pride and her "DOG!" (That is the only word she can really say and when she sees a dog she gets so excited. Its to cute.) Classic picture of Katelynn. Lets just say she really likes her ice cream!
After the 4th of July it was back to work for Jesse which include a trip to Minnesota and Bakersfield. After two weeks of hard work we were off to the family reunion in BearLake. It was a fun trip. We got to fly there and bring along Lyssa and her future (now) husband Stanley. It was Stanley's first time in a small airplane so Jesse let him take controls for awhile and since he didn't kill us, we're excited to have him part of the family. :) The Reunion was spent with days at the lake getting sun burned for me and games in the evening. The first game was a Hula hoop contest.
Jermey and I didn't do so hot, but we sure did get the greatest picture of him trying! :)

Stanley and Andrew make a great team together. To bad our family frowns on CHEATERS!!!
Barb brought the coolest game to play. You to hit your partner with the flour and lets just say in this case the parents beat the children. Literally.. :) Way to go Barb and Doug!

On our way home we were able to fly low to see and take a picture of the Salt Lake Temple. It was a good way to end the trip. Now were off to our next adventure. Stanley and Lyssa's wedding!!!
