Zion - Orderville Hike

Here are a few shots from the Orderville hike we did in Zion National Park. It was a good trip, we hiked about 15 miles, rapelled 3 times, had to swim about 5 in FREEZING cold snow run-off, and were just about dead by the time we were done. We are still feeling sore, and could barely walk for a day or two. At least I have an excuse because I am so old and fat :)

I liked these with the reflections, but a lot of the pictures were pretty hard because the canyons were dark and the sunlight was really bright. Maybe I should learn how to use a camera :)

Notice the people in the bottom on the picture with the sky washed-out - thems some big canyons!

Here are a few people pictures. The ones with Sarah you had to shimmy between the rocks far enough out to drop straight down into the water - Sarah's face tells you about how cold it was! Some more cool ones. The one on the right was another swim, from the little waterfall in the background to the foreground where you can see it shallow. Had to be a good swimmer holding the backpacks above our heads!

for such a long post! The smiling frog is for Lyssa. Almost done Notice the big rock wedged between the walls. The second was underneath a big log jam we had to climb down, the sun and water going through it were really cool! The third with another suspended rock we had to rapell where the log is propped agains the rock. Wish I had someone stand there to show the scale, but the drop is over 20 feet! This is the same log from the picture with me and Sarah standing in the water to give you an idea. The last is the end of the hike when I took my shoes off to get on the tram bus. We were too tired to get the rocks out, so that is what I ended up with.

Am I allowed to steal some photos for painting ?You know I have to have permission from the person who took them. Love the frog too.

The rocks and waterfalls look gorgeous! I'm jealous! Yet at the same time, I don't think I could have made it that far, I would have died in the first couple miles, then just floated on my back down the rest of the water. so props to you guys! I love the picture of the cute little frog!! Sarah, have you still been doing hip hop abs?
