Grandpa Davis

Saturday I got a phone call from my mother letting me know that my Great-Grandpa Davis has passed on. Grandpa Davis had lived a wonderful life and died at the age of 92. My mom's side of the family has a reputation for living long lives. I wanted to pay tribute to him and thank my Heavenly Father for the opportunity to have him in my life the past 21 years. It isn't everyday you get to see your great grandchild get married and it was a blessing to have them there. He is in a better place now watching over all of us and his beautiful wife. We love you Grandpa.

Work Work Work

Lately Jesse has been working a lot and now since it is over 100 degrees here in Las Vegas no one seems to want to come and work here. So he is off to travel the summer away and I am going to try to keep up with him. He spent the last weekend in Indianapolis for a convention and came back to Vegas today for about 30 min and then left to Sacramento. Now when he is coming home we are not sure his schedule changes daily and just trying to keep up with it is to much work. So I am off to Visalia tomorrow to his parents house hoping that our passes might cross and we get to spend sometime together but if not that’s ok. Before we got married he asked me if I would be ok with this lifestyle and I said yes. I am just grateful I have the summer off so I can try to keep up with him. So I am looking forward to the next several adventures to come the next few weeks and I will try to keep you updated but for know I’m off to see my husband.
By the way I just changed the layout of our blog if it happens to change back to a solid color it just means Jesse has seen in and thinks it to girly. Lets hope the airplane will pass. Cross your fingers because I think they are cute and explain how are life is." Always in the air."

Zion - Orderville Hike

Here are a few shots from the Orderville hike we did in Zion National Park. It was a good trip, we hiked about 15 miles, rapelled 3 times, had to swim about 5 in FREEZING cold snow run-off, and were just about dead by the time we were done. We are still feeling sore, and could barely walk for a day or two. At least I have an excuse because I am so old and fat :)

I liked these with the reflections, but a lot of the pictures were pretty hard because the canyons were dark and the sunlight was really bright. Maybe I should learn how to use a camera :)

Notice the people in the bottom on the picture with the sky washed-out - thems some big canyons!

Here are a few people pictures. The ones with Sarah you had to shimmy between the rocks far enough out to drop straight down into the water - Sarah's face tells you about how cold it was! Some more cool ones. The one on the right was another swim, from the little waterfall in the background to the foreground where you can see it shallow. Had to be a good swimmer holding the backpacks above our heads!

for such a long post! The smiling frog is for Lyssa. Almost done Notice the big rock wedged between the walls. The second was underneath a big log jam we had to climb down, the sun and water going through it were really cool! The third with another suspended rock we had to rapell where the log is propped agains the rock. Wish I had someone stand there to show the scale, but the drop is over 20 feet! This is the same log from the picture with me and Sarah standing in the water to give you an idea. The last is the end of the hike when I took my shoes off to get on the tram bus. We were too tired to get the rocks out, so that is what I ended up with.

Here are a few shots from my recent trip to Denver. It was a nice day, smooth ride until I started down passed the rockies. Then it got pretty bumpy, but made it there in time to catch the bus to take me to my flight back home to drive to Zion park and hike the next day. It was a busy day. I always like flying over lake powell, and was surprised there is still so much snow up in the mountains. I flew over Leadville, the highest airport in the states - pretty cool.

Trip To California

Here are some videos from our trip home from opening Andrew's mission call. Sarah liked the oxygen masks and flying passed Red Rock park near Vegas, so here you go. It was a little bumpy that morning so the quality isn't the greatest, but you get the idea. We found out she gets a little hypoxic if we fly a little on the higher side (sorry honey :), so we look like Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head. So far all of my flying posts have been pretty lame because I dont like to take the camera when I have clients, which is usually when I go to the fun places, but maybe I can get some better ones on here soon.

Idaho Trip

I know I have been bad with blogging lately, but nothing really exciting has been going on till last week. Andrew, Jesse's brother, was attending BYU-Idaho the past two semesters and was planning to attend summer session until he needed an unexpected surgery. So last week we went up to good old Rexburger to pick up his stuff and since he is on strict restrictions on how much weight he can lift Jesse, Barb, and me did all the grunt work. :) But it was a lot of fun - we did a lot of driving at least three to four hours a day, some nine to ten. But along the way we got to spend a few days with Grandpa Haddock and even got him set up in the world of blogging. We also got to spend some time with one of Jesse's mission companions. Jesse also fell in love with an old car. He has a great uncle who as collected cars and was willing to sell him one and we were on the verge of buying it, but the car is a beast and we couldn't find a place in Salt Lake that had a trailer big enough to bring it home. We go back up that directions in July so who knows we might have a 1959 Electra parked in our garage. *Jesse adds: Watch out for Sarah to hit you where it doesn't hurt, to cut the beans, and hold the napkins laughing while you wear andrew's exploding rootbeer for 15 minutes.*

The beginnings of being stuck in the truck for many, many hours.

The storm we hit as we were driving up to Idaho. Yes there is still snow on the mountains and on the ground when its a 100 degrees here in Vegas. Did I mention we traveled to Paris too. Well Paris Idaho, its only two minutes away from Grandpa Haddocks house.

Logan Temple it was so pretty with the tulips in bloom.

I just love tulips and Jesse likes taking pictures.

Andrew not following doctors orders and is holding more the 15 pounds, but he does it so effortlessly.

Jesse cutting the wood for the fire at Grandpa's house.

Roasting Marshmellows and making smores.

Jesse's new idea, marshmellows and vanilla waffers. There not too bad you should give them a try.

You have to use your imagination for this picture. It might just look like a hunk of metal but Jesse has high hopes for this car.

Grandparents 40's Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday was my grandparent’s 40’s wedding anniversary. In celebration of it they decided to re-new there wedding vows. With close family and friends we all went to the Faith Lutheran Church and they re-newed their vows. After wards we went to my Aunt Heidi’s house and had a wonderful dinner. We ate and watched a DVD of my grandparents over the years. It was good to see all my family; even though we live so close it is sometimes hard to get together with our busy schedules.

Dramamine = No Good

This past weekend was just another typical weekend, meaning we found out we were heading out of town last minute. Jesse’s brother Andrew flew into town Saturday night and was planning on meeting up with his friends here in Vegas to make the long drive back up to good old Rexburg. But instead he had some medical issues and needed to go back home to Visalia. So those meant get in the plane and were out of here. With those of you that live here in town you noticed it was really windy. To Jesse that just meant more gas because we had a head wind. To me that meant really bumpy and I didn’t want to get sick. So before we left I stopped by the store and got some Dramamine and took it an hour before we left and I felt like crap the rest of the day. That was the longest flight I have been on. Not only did the Dramamine make me feel out of it and really tired, I had to pee half way through the trip. Let me you remind you no potty stops on these trips. After we landed and the rest of the night I was so tired and dizzy. When we got up this morning I was feeling better and decided not take any Dramamine for the ride home the flight went a lot better. The funny thing is it was a lot bumpier coming back than going. So for me Dramamine is out, I’ll take my chances of getting sick because yesterday was a long day. And Yes we forgot the Camera or we would have some really cool shots to show. We came back to Vegas as the sun was rising and it was a beautiful morning.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

Last Friday night Jesse and I were having a late dinner, which means whatever we can find in our fridge. Well Jesse said he was in the mood for PB&J and began to make his sandwich. Well I guess I haven't been properly educated on how to make a proper PB&J. Well just in case you don't know either I fill you in. First you need three pieces of bread, not two or four, just three. Add peanut butter to two pieces of the bread and add Jelly on the third piece on both sides of the bread. Mush together and your good to go. Jess says that the only way you can make a PB&J. This way when you take it to lunch it doesn't get soggy. I was laughing through the whole "lesson" I just never new there was so much thought going into a PB&J.
